To accomplish this, Scion features a series of workshops that lay out the essentials for establishing a strong knowledge base. Each workshop is led by a expert in their respective field.

David Weitzman works at the ole, one of world’s largest independent music publishers, as the Director of Business Development for the Los Angeles team. He has over 15 years of experience in the music business, ranging from A&R and radio promotion to digital music development and distribution to music supervision. He led a workshop on Publishing, which is essential for any artist’s long-term financial stablility.
AJ Finizio has worked in music, events, and marketing for over 15 years. After running the digital distribution and licensing department at Studio Distribution, Finizio launched seed, a boutique digital distribution, licensing, and marketing house located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. His workshop covered Online Music Sales and the Reality Behind Distribution.
Kristin Lee Geisler is a business manager at deBlois, Mejia & Kaplan in Beverly Hills, California. Geisler focuses her accounting practice on multi-state and multi-national touring and recording artists, but maintains a diverse clientele including some of the top writers, actors, comedians, and other players in the entertainment industry. For here Finance 101 panel, she laid out the first steps any artist should take to establish themselves as a business.
David Brodsky is a veteran music video director with hundreds of credits to his name. He often directs, shoots and edits his own pieces. His workshop How to Make a Badass Video gets at what it takes emotionally and practically to create a music video that will stand out from the rest.
